Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how ReeMate for iPhone and the companion Mac app, ReeMate Server, handle information when you use the apps.
Summary
- ReeMate is designed to work primarily on your local network between your iPhone and your Mac.
- We do not use third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or cross-app tracking.
- We do not require account creation.
- Some data is stored locally on your devices to enable pairing, settings, and premium unlock status.
- If you choose to send feedback or contact support, you voluntarily provide the information included in your message.
Information the app may access
- Local network and nearby device information: used to discover and connect your iPhone to your Mac through technologies such as local network discovery and peer-to-peer connectivity.
- Camera access: used only when you choose to scan a QR code for pairing. Camera images are processed on-device for scanning and are not uploaded by the app.
- Photos or videos you select: if you use the feedback form and choose attachments, the selected files are attached to your support email only when you decide to send it.
- Microphone access on ReeMate Server: used only for microphone mute related functionality if you enable and use that feature on the Mac companion app.
- Purchase information: if you buy premium features, Apple processes the transaction. The app receives purchase status and transaction verification data needed to unlock features.
Information stored locally
The apps may store the following data locally on your device:
- pairing tokens and trusted device identifiers;
- connection preferences and selected communication channel;
- premium entitlement status;
- app settings and basic operational state needed for reconnection and usability.
Sensitive pairing and security information is intended to be stored securely, such as in the Keychain when available.
How information is used
- to discover and pair your iPhone with your Mac;
- to authenticate trusted devices and maintain a secure remote-control session;
- to enable remote control features such as media, volume, pointer, keyboard, and shortcuts;
- to restore premium access after purchase;
- to respond to support requests you choose to send.
Data sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your data with advertising networks. Data may be shared only in the following limited cases:
- Apple: for App Store distribution, in-app purchases, and system services.
- Email provider: if you choose to send feedback or contact support by email.
- Between your own devices: as needed to connect your iPhone and Mac for app functionality.
Tracking and analytics
ReeMate does not use tracking for advertising purposes and does not use third-party analytics SDKs.
Data retention
Locally stored data remains on your device until you remove it, unpair devices, reset the app, or uninstall the app, subject to operating system behavior.
Your choices
- You can decide whether to grant camera or microphone permissions.
- You can remove paired devices and stored app data from within the app or by deleting the app.
- You can choose whether to send feedback emails and whether to include attachments.
Children's privacy
ReeMate is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
